Amman, Jordan

8-9 November 2009

Patron of the event: Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah

On November 9, 2009, Jordanians will unite with survivors to commemorate four years since the heinous attacks that claimed dozens of lives in three hotels in Amman. While the pain and horror caused by these attacks will never go away, we believe that the strength, resolve and unity that brought so many together to condemn the acts of terror can be a lasting tribute to those lost.

The event will highlight this sentiment and to bear witness to the countless citizens around the globe who stand with Jordanians in honouring the victims and putting an end to the use of violence to address political grievances.

On November 8th, there will be a private one-day workshop for victims and survivors of terror. If you are interested in attending, please contact ashraf@fmsjo.com.

The event on November 9th will be simple, but filled with powerful symbols of support, strength and peace. Victims and survivors of terror, alongside ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic community will plant olive trees around the Memorial Garden that has been created to honour Jordanian victims of terror, creating a figurative and literal circle of peace around the Memorial Garden. If you are interested in attending, please contact ashraf@fmsjo.com.
